I also would like a written estimate for the back fence replacement and rebuild of the drive way gates. I would be ready to do this after July 15h if your schedule can accomodate it. Please confirm if your initial quote of $2200.00 includes materials or not.

Just to refresh your memory, here are the details:

Preferences for Back Fence and Driveway Gates: 837 SW 139th St. Burien

This is based upon a 6 ft. high back fence with dog eared rough cut natural or Western Cedar 1x6 boards. Bracing can be treated pine. I estimate two rows of bracing needing 14 8 ft 2x4's to accommodate 70 linear feet of fence. It should match the existing fence on the West side of the property.

The existing posts should be able to be re-used as well. As with the current fence, the bracing will be face the adjacent property's fence, with that small gap between the two fences. I would like to spray that gap with horticultural vinegar to remove the blackberry vines after the old fence is taken down, and before the new fence goes up. I plan to be here on the same day it is going to be taken down and rebuilt, so while you are building the new fence I will be spaying that ground with vinegar.

The existing driveway gate is 5.5 feet high and 11 ft 4 inches wide -- 6 ft total with the bottom baseboard and the necessary bottom gap. The existing boards are 4 ft. Need a clearance of at least 10 ft, but 11 ft would be better if the hinge can handle it, and when fully opened, a little extra room to be angled away like it is now. I understand you will need to move/remove the existing post that cuts off the clearance at 8 ft. to accommodate at least a ten foot clearance for the driveway gate. I don't want that lattice top again, so 4 ft boards with possibly something else on top, or 5 ft boards without the extra bottom baseboard skirt. The Western Cedar boards here would be straight cut ends and not dog eared. I would like a pull handle installed on the inside to use when opening the driveway gate from the inside as well.

Replace/rebuild the 3 ft wide pedestrian gate in the same position and the same size. I anticipate most of the hardware for the gates can be reused. A super heavy duty roller for the single driveway gate bottom is a necessity. I am also assuming the existing posts can be reused too, but one would need to be removed to expand the width of that gate. Add to the estimate for new bracing if needed.

Western red cedar: 13 linear feet, 6 foot high boards. Treated Pine, ground contact rated bracing: approx. 11 ea, 2x8 ft, cut to size if needed. 2 of them can be larger for the flat top.

Gate Hardware: can resuse existing latches, new hinges for the pedestrian gate, but need need heavy duty roller wheel. Add for larger hinge(s) if needed for the wider gate.
